GREET AND TEACH
MISSION/CHARGE
The purpose of FOBL Greet and Teach Nights is to welcome
and
inform new lake residents about Beaver Lake's unique and
fragile
ecosystem in a way that will get them excited about protecting
their lake and sparking interest in FOBL volunteer opportunities.
Another mission is to provide helpful local resources
and some
friendly faces to turn to for environmental questions
or concerns.

TASKS/ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Assemble a welcome bag, brochures and copies of the
weeds sheets, and maybe a non-phosphate dish soap
Update a list of new residents
BEST PRACTICES
Show not just Tell; taking folks out on the lake and showing
them that
Turtle Bay is too shallow and not for motorboats, and
that props stir up shallow bottoms all around the lake,
etc.
Give a History of Beaver Lake to build pride in ownership
as
well as ownership in preserving what we have in Beaver
Lake.
Provide an introduction to the FOBL Board as a group that
is approachable, open minded and friendly
